HAZARDOUS MATERIAL DISCLOSURE January 12, 2010Re: Robot Repair Service Update Dear Valued Customer, Brooks remains committed to providing highly differentiated repair services that assure the on-going high performance you expect from Brooks products. For many years we have asked you to work with us to assure the safety of your employees, Brooks’ employees and the employees of our service providers by completing a signed Health and Safety Certificate before you return cryopumps for repair. By accurately identifying any direct or indirect exposure the pumps have had with hazardous material, we are able to safely and efficiently handle pumps through our repair process. Going forward, we are asking for your help to assure the same level of safety for your employees, Brooks’ employees and our suppliers that handle robots and related components returned to Brooks for repair. Brooks will now require a signed Hazardous Material Disclosure Form for each returned component prior to issuing a return material authorization number, just like we do for pumps. But because our robot repair process does not include a decontamination step at the beginning of the process, components directly or indirectly exposed to anything other than "Non-Hazardous" materials must be decontaminated and certified as safe to handle prior to being accepted for service. You may easily access this new Hazardous Material Disclosure Form on our site. If you have any questions regarding our new process or the form, or need help assessing the condition of your robot or component, please contact one of our product experts at the phone numbers below. | China | +86-21-5131-7066 | | Europe | +49-1804 -2255-4887 | | Japan (HKK) | +81-45-477-5980 | | North America | +1-800-367-4887 | | Taiwan | +886-3-552-5225 | | Singapore | +65-6464-1481 |
Please be reminded that any product exposed to Biological Hazards, Radioactive Materials, or Mercury (Hg), cannot be repaired by Brooks. Thank you for your assistance as we implement this new policy. The safety of your employees, Brooks’ employees and Brooks’ suppliers is an imperative. Best Regards, Brian Michael Sr. Director, Global Repair Operations Brooks Automation, Inc. |
