MICHAEL W. PIPPINS - PRESIDENT OF AUTOMATION SYSTEMS GROUP (ASG)


 

In December 2007, Michael Pippins was appointed President of the Automation Systems Group (ASG) as part of an executive reorganization designed to improve operating efficiency and customer responsiveness. As President of ASG, Mr. Pippins has responsibility for all aspects of engineering, marketing and operations. Prior to this reorganization, he served in a similar role as Senior Vice President & General Manager for Brooks’ Technology Automation Division. Mr. Pippins reports directly to Robert J. Lepofsky, CEO.

Mr. Pippins joined Brooks in 1992 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing after having held marketing positions at ASM Ion Implant and Varian Ion Implant. Since that time, he has served the Company in a wide variety of roles and taken on increasing responsibilities in the areas of engineering, manufacturing, marketing, investor relations, mergers & acquisitions, global operations and corporate level strategic planning. Over the course of his career, Mr. Pippins’ work resulted in four patent awards in the area of cluster tool and load lock automation.

Mr. Pippins earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University and completed the Certificate of Special Studies at Harvard University.
